The other week Jake and I were talking and he grabbed a Cicada shell- popped it in his mouth like movie popcorn and started chewing. I didn’t watch long enough to see if he spit it out or not. Here is a montage depicting the events. Mouse over for captions.

Linus was bored so getting another animal seemed like a sane idea. (Linus was not consulted in this decision)
The answer was Mia from Capitol Area Humane Society. Mia was a half-price adoption since it was a promotion. That and how cute she was helped offset the parasite problem.

Linus is very interested in Mia, but not outwardly aggressive.

Update:Mia and Linus are getting along- they even sit next to each other. Linus “lets” Mia win when they tussle.

What is worse than putting a cat on a leash? Viewing someone else’s cat on-the-leash photos!

And the random photo is even random! I think it works well, and upgrading from Gallery to Gallery2 wasn’t too bad (haven’t deleted the old ?G1 directory yet!). Just needed a few .htaccess files: One iis /gallery/albums/.htaccess to repoint old G1 IMG links. The other is a gallery2 /gallery/.htaccess which rewrites album names, then go into the options of the admin page mod_rewrite module and include the G1->G2 integration.
